First of all, my friend Meghal and I did a collaborative project on gender expression and identity. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about myself that I didn't know. I'm still processing it, because the reactions have been bizarre to watch as well. I've been doing a lot of pages as of late, so there hasn't been a lot of new stuff to post. BUT there are new things that have happened. First of all, my friend Meghal and I did a collaborative project on gender expression and identity. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about myself that I didn't know. I'm still processing it, because the reactions have been bizarre to watch as well. Click on this link to check out more of Meghal's work (she is one BADASS photographer) https://www.facebook.com/MeghalJanardanPhotography And then the MOST exciting, I got to be on the Comics are Great blog hosted by Jerzy Drozd! We tore tumblr to shreds and it was a lot of fun, and I got to meet some other local comic artists and learned a lot of new stuff too. And you can see that video right below! Whee, doing artwork outside IP has been really nice! Gotta remember to not get tunnel vision.

Huzzah. Getting work done. I used a website this weekend to test out some fonts made from my own handwriting. That way I can just put my text on my pages on photoshop rather than worry about doing lettering myself.
However. I was not aware that my handwriting was so similar to comic sans. WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN. My text will be all in caps, so it won't look too bad...maybe... I think I might try again. Jim Davis must have had a bigger influence on me as I child than I thought. Not selfies. God bless Photo Booth for photo reference. I think these are hilarious, if someone were to open my photo booth they'd probably think I was rehearsing my mime routine.
Wowee. I've watched some of Chris Hadfield's videos on youtube (because SPACE) but I just listened to an interview of his and watched his Space Odyssey video and wow. Wow wow wow. Watching a non-computer generated image of our earth is still blowing my mind. My brother just applied to be an astronaut (I don't know the details, but apparently if you are a marine you can do that sort of thing) and now my fingers are triple crossed for him to get in.
Here's the link to the vid if you're interested:http://youtu.be/KaOC9danxNo Also. Pages pages pages. I'm on a good schedule, just have to keep it up. |
