Here is my brand new wall of crazy.
Actually, it doesn't look that crazy comparatively. But it will.
Actually, it doesn't look that crazy comparatively. But it will.
Everyone has a different process for making comics, but mine usually goes as follows.
- Storm the brain
- Write a script
- Do thumbnails
- Sketch pages
- Ink pages
- Color pages
The brain has been stormed on enough. I spent the past week or so in hammer-down-the-script mode. Which has consisted of excessive amounts of word vomit in the hopes of finding the right ones and organizing my thoughts in webs and timelines. So many timelines.
The script is over halfway done, which is great. If I focus the next two days on it, I can finish it and start editing to be translated into thumbnails over fall break. Which will be much much easier after my professor and GSI came in and gave all my thoughts a good shake.
The plot is there in my brain space, but stories follow a certain structure. Camilla and John helped with the that. Even though I knew the storyline my plot would follow I still had some gaping holes. The holes are much smaller now. And talking out thought-snarls helped a lot, articulating things isn't always my strong suit.
That being said, part of the next two days will be revision since now I have to rewrite things. Blergh.
I promise that thumbnails and concept art and things with pretty colors instead of MAS
